From Passion to Profession: My Journey as a Site Director
From a young age, I was captivated by the idea of learning and how it can change an idea, a mindset, and lives.
Being Ukrainian-born with Russian as my native language, learning to speak and understand English was a significant change during my childhood.
As I continued my education, my love for math grew. I discovered a strong correlation between learning English as a child and math as its own language. This understanding made me realize the importance of imparting language skills to others through high-quality instruction.
Alongside my passion for teaching, my fascination with mathematics grew, as I recognized its potential to unlock critical thinking and problem-solving abilities in students.
Equipped with a strong desire to make a meaningful impact, I pursued a master's degree in Secondary Education Mathematics and obtained a certification as a School Building Leader. This program not only deepened my subject knowledge but also exposed me to diverse teaching methodologies and pedagogical techniques. I honed my skills through classroom experience, engaging with students of varying abilities and backgrounds. Witnessing the profound transformations in students' understanding and confidence fueled my determination to extend educational opportunities beyond traditional classroom settings.
After meeting Kathleen and joining the team of tutors, I discovered that we shared a passion for learning and helping others grow. We value children understanding themselves as learners and as growing adults. Brigham Learning transcends geographical barriers and provides students with tailored educational support. Leveraging advanced technology, we offer a virtual classroom that replicates the benefits of in-person tutoring.
